CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C.- Campbell River is getting a rural advanced care community paramedic.
The new, full-time position is being provided by BC Emergency Health Services. It’s part of an initiative to bring community paramedicine to rural and remote communities across the province.
They’ll be providing expanded paramedicine services such as “assessing and treating higher acuity patients, and supporting local physicians and nurse practitioners in residential care, clinic and other facilities.”
City council will be sending a letter of thanks to BC Emergency Health Services thanking them as well as to get more details on the position such as how long they’ll be working in Campbell River and the surrounding area.
