Many Island residents, including Campbell Riverites, felt the earthquake that hit just after 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.
The US Geological Survey reports that the quake had a magnitude of 4.8 and happened 13 kilometers into the ocean East North East of Tofino.
Natural Resources Canada meanwhile report the quake to have a magnitude of 4.6.
There were no tsunami warnings issued.
