CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C.-A fire at the Campbell River Golf & Country Club could have been a lot worse.
Firefighters were called to the club last Thursday just before midnight. Chief Ian Baikie says fire sprinklers and a quick response by crews helped keep the damage to a minimum.
The fire was in the kitchen area and was kept at bay by the sprinklers until the fire department arrived to put it out. Baikie says the owner intends to re-open the restaurant in the near future.
