The Tory MP for the North Island, is throwing cold water on some political pundits predicting the Conservatives will call an early election, well in advance of the planned federal vote next fall.

The next federal election is planned for October of 2015, but some Ottawa watchers, say an early election could be called sooner rather than later to avoid publicity over the Mike Duffy trial.
