A spokesperson for the Vancouver Aquarium says a medical team has responded to the Fanny Bay area today, freeing a few California Sea Lions and a Stellar Sea Lion right now, entangled in rope and fishing line. She says there are several hundred sea lions entangled in various garbage along the coast, adding officials have yet to find a sea lion earlier entangled with rope suffering very severe injuries, as featured by a Comox Valley photographer.
