CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C.-The entrance to the Maritime Heritage Centre will likely be a roundabout.
This comes after Campbell River council’s last meeting. Council received a report weighing the pros and cons of a roundabout or a set of stop lights.
The area sees heavy traffic so the solution had to be able to accommodate that flow, as well as large transport trucks. Council decided the roundabout was the better of the two options, in part because it is more efficient at moving traffic.
Another traffic study will now be done in the area before the roundabout is finalized. That’s because the last study was done four years ago and current traffic numbers need to be confirmed.
