CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C.-A major waterfront renewal project in Campbell River is ready to roll.
The city says $27 million in upgrades along Highway 19A from Rockland Road to the Maritime Heritage Centre will kick off in the summer. The three-year project includes updating the waterfront sewer line, rebuilding the Big Rock Boat Ramp, and finishing the next phase of Highway 19A improvements.
The city says the sewer work will include significant excavation but two-way traffic in the area will be maintained throughout this year. However there will come a time when it will cause traffic issues and the city says it’s reaching out to people who will be directly affected by those issues.
In the meantime Mayor Andy Adams says the project will bring a number of long-term benefits to Campbell River which will greatly improve the city’s livability. You can find more information on the project at the city’s website.
