City says Big Rock boat ramp upgrades will be done in two parts

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C.-Campbell River City Hall has unveiled more details about the coming Big Rock boat ramp upgrades.

The city says the project will be done in two phases starting in June. This summer’s work will include all of the in-water upgrades. That means things like improvements to the breakwaters, and installing a floating ramp system. It’ll be closed from mid-June to October while the work is being done.

Future improvements would involve upgrades to the upland areas at the facility, including the parking area and neighbouring park.

You can learn more about the project, and the rest of the planned waterfront improvement projects, at the city’s website.

There’s also going to be open houses at the Maritime Heritage Centre next Tuesday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and next Wednesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
