Council confirms decision to build roundabout at Maritime Heritage Centre entrance

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C.-Council has confirmed the new entrance to the Maritime Heritage Centre will be a roundabout. This comes after a further discussion on the issue at Monday’s meeting.

Council decided a roundabout was the best option at its previous meeting as they’re more efficient at keeping traffic moving compared to a set of traffic lights. Since the area sees heavy traffic the roundabout won out.

The city says the new roundabout will be designed by Highland Engineering and will take into consideration additional safety for cyclists and pedestrians.
