NO DANGER TO PUBLIC IN SUNDAY MORNING POLICE INCIDENT

COURTENAY, B.C. – The Comox Valley RCMP was called to Anna Place in Courtenay to assist a distressed male on Sunday morning.

Witnesses reported a strong police presence at around 10:00 a.m. off of Muir Road, near the Valley Vista Estates.

A report from CTV News Vancouver Island stated that the RCMP was called in to assist a male who was threatening to harm himself.

The unidentified male turned himself over to the police before the situation escalated further. RCMP then searched the man’s home for weapons.

BC Ambulance also responded to the scene, and the matter was resolved peacefully.

The man’s name and age have not been released.
