CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C- Campbell River Council is preparing for it’s upcoming fall election.
According to a press release from the city, local government elections for mayor and six councillors will be held on Saturday, October 20th, and interested applicants can get started on their paperwork now.Â
Council members are elected for a four year term, and to be an eligible, you must be a Canadian citizen of 18 years of age or older on voting day.
Applicants must have been a resident of British Columbia for at least six months before the day of filing and can’t have been disqualified by the Local Government Act, or any other enactment from voting in BC or holding office. Â
The nomination papers must be filed at City Hall between September 4th and 14th.  Candidate information guides and nomination forms are now available on the City’s website at campbellriver.ca/election, and at Campbell River City Hall, 301 St. Ann’s Road from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
