Local salmon conservation projects get funded

The Pacific Salmon Foundation is giving a boost to two local salmon enhancement projects.
The Tyee Club is going to be getting $1,500 to do bottom renewal in the Campbell River estuary.
CEO of the foundation  Brian Riddell says the restoration work will include planting eel grass.
Scuba divers and volunteers will be doing the plantings.
Riddell says the Discovery Passage Aquarium is also getting a $5,000 grant towards education.
The money is going to be used to buy microscopes, water quality test kit and other items used in environmental monitoring.
