CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – Strathcona Regional District’s elected officials and senior staff will be going on a short tour of the SRD’s electoral areas.
There will be four open houses, one in each electoral area, where the board will discuss the 2019 financial plan for the district, as well as initiatives like improved broadband connectivity in the area, community services, and a proposed redevelopment of Strathcona Gardens.
SRD residents are encouraged to drop by any of the open houses to speak with the board and get more information on their plans for the district. Residents will also have the chance to provide feedback and have their concerns heard during the open houses. There will also be pre-budget meetings where residents can provide feedback and know more about what the board plans to do with the district’s budget.
The following are the dates for the open houses:

Area A (Kyuqout/Nootka-Sayward) – October 30th, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Sayward Heritage Hall

Area B (Cortes Island) – November 1st, 2:00 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Klahoose Main Hall

Area C (Discovery Islands-Mainland Inlets) – November 6th, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Quadra Island Elementary School

Area D (Oyster Bay-Buttle Lake) – November 13th, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Oyster Bay Resort
The following is the schedule for the pre-budget meetings, which are open to the public:
