Flu shots for the season now available

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – Island Health is advising members of the community to come out and get their flu shots for the season.

Residents can stop by the Campbell River Community Centre (401 11th Ave.) to get a shot from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Residents must bring either their CareCard or a valid government ID (driver’s license, for example).

Residents 65 years and older and their caregivers can get the shot for free. Healthcare workers, emergency responders, and children and adults with chronic health conditions can also get the flu shot for free.

To see if you are eligible for a flu shot, you can visit this link.

If you miss today’s flu clinic at the community centre, you can visit Shopper’s Drugmart, London Drugs, the pharmacy at Save-on-Foods, as well as the Superstore pharmacy to get a flu vaccine.
