Reminder: free transit service offered on New Year’s Eve

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – The City of Campbell River and BC Transit have teamed up to once again offer free transit service on New Year’s Eve.

To ensure everyone makes it home safely, free service will begin on Monday, December 31st at 6:35 p.m. and will last through to the end of service at 3:10 a.m.

There will be no transit service available throughout the day on Tuesday, January 1st.

Regular service will kick back into effect on January 2nd, 2019.

CITY FACILITIES HOLIDAY HOURS

Certain facilities in the city will be closed for New Year’s Day.

The Campbell River Sportsplex (1800 South Alder Street) will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 31st. The facility will be closed on January 1st.

Service will resume on January 2nd. The Sportsplex will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Campbell River Community Centre, located at 401-11th Avenue, is closed on both New Year’s Eve day and January 1st and 2nd, 2019. The facility is also closed today, December 30th.

The city noted that City Hall and Dogwood Operations will be closed January 2nd, 2019.
