Campbell River fire department responds to two fires in one day

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – The Campbell River Fire Rescue’s busy season is still in full swing.

On Saturday, the department responded to two fire incidents.

According to a social media update from the team, a morning fire in the 600 block of Evergreen Road sent one person to the hospital due to smoke inhalation and minor burns. Crews were able to contain the fire in one room.

On the same day just before 4:00 p.m., crews responded to another structural fire call. The third floor of a four-storey apartment building filled up with smoke due to a kitchen fire in one of the units. Tenants were evacuated, and there were no injuries reported at the scene.

We have reached out to the fire department for more details, and we will provide updates as information becomes available.
