CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – School District 72 will compensate their employees if they are injured on the job.
The board adopted the new bylaw from their last meeting. Before adopting it, the board held two readings.
A copy of the draft bylaw was also published on the school district’s website for the public.
The bylaw commits that the board will pay for claims of damages while an employee or officer is performing their duties. Employees will also be compensated if an inquiry or a proceeding is involved regarding the district’s conduct.
The bylaw also commits that the school district will pay for legal costs that result from the inquiries or proceedings.
