Laura Smith is set to represent the Conservatives as their candidate in the North Island – Powell River riding in the 2015 federal election.
Smith’s worked as an advisor to North Island MP John Duncan for the last 7 years.
She says working with Duncan was an invaluable experience on how to work in the riding, as well as how to be an advocate for coastal communities in Ottawa.
In addition to politics, Smith is part of many local groups, including a local Search and Rescue volunteer squad.
