City offering free home energy efficiency workshop

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – On February 20th, Campbell River homeowners can learn how to make their home’s energy more efficient.

In a release, the city said it is offering the free workshop in partnership with BC Hydro. The workshop will focus on teaching homeowners energy efficiency upgrades and renovations, as well as energy considerations to keep in mind when purchasing a house.

The workshop will take place at the Coast Discovery Inn from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on February 20th.

“This workshop will introduce the community to our local energy advisors and share ideas for improving home energy efficiency,” wrote Amber Zirnhelt, the city’s manager of long range planning and sustainability.

Local energy advisors Darrell Eason and Cristi Sacht will lead the workshop. They will help homeowners identify opportunities to improve home comfort as well as save on utility bill costs.

Interested residents are asked to register by contacting the city’s Long Range Planning and Sustainability Department at 250-286-5796.
