Woman in critical condition after hit and run in Campbell River

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – A woman is in critical condition after a hit and run in town.

Campbell River RCMP are now asking for the public’s assistance in identifying her.

According to a release from the detachment, officers responded to a call that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle around the 1800-block of Island Highway at 9:14 p.m. on February 28th. A white car was reportedly seen leaving the scene.

Police are looking for witnesses. Those who may have a dash cam that recorded the incident are also asked to come forward.

The woman has been airlifted to a larger hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

She is described as being in her 50s, Caucasian with blond hair, and a tattoo on her left shoulder. At the time of the incident, she was wearing a heavy black jacket, blue jeans, and black boots. She did not have any ID on her.
