Coding workshop coming to Campbell River library

CAMPBELL RIVER, BC – A coding workshop for kids is coming to Campbell River.

The Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) partnered with Canada Learning Code (CLC) to offer fun, beginner friendly and hands-on coding workshops for students in grades two to six.

There will be two workshops on June 12th.

The first is geared towards students in grades two and three, and will run from 3:30pm to 4:45pm. The second is for students in grades four to six, and will run from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.

Both programs will use the coding language Scratch, which was designed specifically to help beginners understand coding.

CLC partners with various communities to make sure Canadians, especially women, girls, people with disabilities, Indigenous youth, and newcomers have access to programs and workshops they need for digital literacy.

To register, call the Campbell River library at 250-287-3655.
