MERVILLE, BC – MARS is opening its new visitor centre for the first time this weekend.
The Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society (MARS) saves and helps rehabilitate injured, orphaned or sick birds, fawns, raccoons, and other animals.
Now, they have a brand new centre where visitors can see and understand the work they do.
They have displays, interactive exhibits, and a special children’s area for kids to play and learn about MARS’ rescue efforts.
An outdoor area with ponds, wildlife viewing, botanical trails and picnic areas is still under development. MARS says the outdoor area will open as soon as funding permits.
The new visitor centre is located off Highway 19A at 1331 Williams Beach Rd in Merville. It will be open from Thursdays through Sundays from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
The centre will also be open during statutory holidays
