Georgia Park focusing on positives after vandalism

CAMPBELL RIVER, BC – Georgia Park Elementary students and teachers are focusing on the positives after some vandalism.

Students in grades four and five worked on putting up bird and bee houses around the green space near the school. Greenways Land Trust supplied the habitat helpers.

A little more than a week later the students found the little houses torn down from the trees and smashed.

Greenways, fortunately, had extra feeders. Volunteers helped students replace them. The feeders are now a little higher up and they hope this will discourage people from taking them down again.

Teacher Lisa Walls told MyCampbellRiverNow.com they don’t want to focus on the event anymore.

Instead, she says they want to end the school year on a positive note.
