New exhibit comes to Campbell River Art Gallery

A father and his sons are bringing their art to Campbell River.

Cedric and Nathan work with their father Jim Bomford to create custom-built installations on display for both Spirit Square and inside the Campbell River Art Gallery.

The exhibit is called Rest Area & Crummy Gallery and features photographic work from the family.

The work is created by “thinking through building” and uses rest stops along the highway. The goal of both installations is to provoke thought on two aspects of these spaces.

An Opening Reception is scheduled for September 21st from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The reception will kick off the weekend’s Art & Earth Festival. The reception will be held at the gallery and Spirit Square. The Bomfords will be present to talk about their art.

There will be another opportunity to speak with the Bomfords about their art on September 22nd from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. They will talk about the processes of building interactive works that people can play on, touch and climb.

For more information on the exhibit, as well as the talk, visit the CRAG website or call 250-287-226.
