Food Connections conference calling for proposals

Food Connections 2019 is calling for conference presenter proposals.

The conference will be on November 28th. This year’s conference is titled “Fish are Food”. According to the Strathcona Community Health Network, the conference is a “cross-pollination between seafood, community and farming for healthy island food systems”.

Food Connections is an annual Vancouver Island gathering. It brings together food security advocates with the intention of working together to build healthy food systems.

This year, Food Connections is inviting those in the fisheries sector to participate. It’s inviting fish harvesters, farmers, and their communities to participate.

The goal of this year’s conference is to see solutions to making seafood more accessible to coastal communities. It will also look at healthy ways to harvest and distribute seafood that will contribute to the economic, environmental and social well-being of communities.
