RCMP looking to return lost items

The Campbell River RCMP is looking for the owners of several items.

Over the last several weeks, the detachment recovered several items but the owners never reported them as missing.

Some of the items the police retrieved include a lawnmower and a small outboard engine.

If you’re the owner of an identifiable “missing” item, the Campbell River RCMP asks that you call them.

In order to reclaim your item, describe the missing item in detail to the RCMP in a call. Make sure to include the brand, colour, and other distinguishing features. If you know the serial number, the police say that would be best.

“We would ask that if people are the victims of theft, that they would report it. Information from reports can help the police and the community determine the level of criminal activity that is taking place and allows for the proper allocation of resources,” Spokesperson Cst. Maury Tyre said.

He adds keeping a list of serial numbers for valuables is also a good idea.

“A simple way to do this in the digital age is to take photos of your valuables with your phone and then a photo of the serial number. That way, if you are the unfortunate victim of a crime, you have a way to identify the items to the police.”

Call the Campbell River RCMP at 250-286-6221 if you have a missing item they may have.
