It’s fireworks season.
In the lead up to Halloween, the City of Campbell River is reminding residents that a permit is required before setting off fireworks.
The city says the permit must be purchased two weeks before using fireworks. The deadline to purchase a permit is October 17th. Each permit is $40 and are available at the downtown fire hall from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm from Monday to Friday.
The city is also reminding residents to have a safe Halloween by:
- Knowing and following fireworks regulations
- Following all the instructions provided with the fireworks
- Choosing an appropriate location to maximize safety
- Properly disposing of fireworks packaging and making sure there are no smoldering parts
Campbell River firefighters will also be hosting a fireworks display on Halloween night at the Sportsplex. The display is part of the Campbell River No. 2 Fire Hall Association’s annual Halloween event.
This year, there will be hot chocolate, hotdogs and fireworks. The event is by donation. The night will start at 8:00 pm.
