The giant tires that washed ashore Stories Beach have been removed and sent to a recycling facility.
They were first spotted in late November, bolted together in groups of three or four sitting at approximately 10 feet tall.
A government decision was made to remove the tires.
Staff with the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development organized the removal, which cost approximately $1,000.
The origin of the tires is unknown, though it is believed they broke away from a nearby breakwater.
