Campbell River Rotary’s March for Children is back tomorrow

Volunteers with the Campbell River Rotary Club will be stationed at intersections around town tomorrow.

They will be collecting money from the public for the annual March for Children.

“Get your coins ready,” says the Rotary Club. “The annual March for Children takes to the streets this Saturday, Dec. 21st from 10:00 am until 3:30 pm. All funds raised go towards the Campbell River Hospital Foundation to support medical equipment benefiting children.”

This year’s march will help with the purchase of two resuscitation carts for the maternity department.

These carts will streamline the care needed when there is a sick baby, with one cart placed in the maternity department and the other in the operating room.

Money raised will also go towards the purchase of a respiratory analyzer, used in home oxygen assessments, disease diagnosis, surgical and treatment plans, and the monitoring of lung transplant candidates.

More than $400,000 has been donated to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation since March for Children began in the 1950s.

Those who would like to donate can find volunteers at Alder at 2nd, Dogwood at 4th, Hilchey at Island Highway, and St. Ann’s at Shopper’s Row.
