The Campbell River Professional Firefighters Local 1668 will be helping to safely dispose of Christmas trees in the new year.
The annual Christmas tree chipping event will help reduce waste while also decreasing fire risks.
Scheduled for Jan. 4th from 10 am till 4 pm, tree chipping will take place in the lower parking lot of the Campbell River Sportsplex.
Tree chipping is done by donation, with all proceeds going to local charities including the Burn Fund.
The fund offers support for children and adults who have suffered severe and traumatic burns.
