City to launch second food incubator session in 2020

Campbell River’s economic development department has shared its 2019 year-end report with council.

The employment land and tech attraction strategies and the good food business incubator program were highlights of the report.

Launched last fall, the program helps support local food business development.

Its goal is to provide the knowledge and tools needed to build a successful food business in Campbell River through a hands-on session experience

A second food incubator session will be launched this year.

The City’s economic development department positions the community for business investment based on strategic location, diverse opportunities and the strength of partnerships between various levels of government.

It also partners with the business community and First Nations neighbours.

While continuing to build on its efforts and collaborations with other City departments, North Island College and community organizations, the department hopes to prepare a long-term strategic plan in 2020.
