Stage one of a new bylaw implemented last year comes into play tomorrow in Campbell River.
The bylaw defines three stages in watering restrictions that will be implemented based on the community’s water use, weather and water supply availability. Stage three is the most restrictive and would be used in cases of extreme and sustained drought or inter-urban fire situations.
Water supervisor Nathalie Viau says part of the reason this is being done is to manage the demand for H2O, especially during hot and dry summers.
