Annual Used Book Sale set to return to the Museum at Campbell River

Book enthusiasts can soon go on a shopping spree while supporting the Museum at Campbell River.

The 15th annual Used Book Sale returns March 7th and 8th, with all funds raised going towards the museum’s programs and exhibit maintenance.

Erika Andersen, book sale coordinator, says the museum’s 1,200-square-foot exhibit space and foyer will be transformed into a book store appealing to readers of all ages and interests.

“It is definitely the biggest used book sale that happens in Campbell River,” Andersen says. “We get a lot of people coming and stocking up for the year even. The prices are fantastic.”

It will cost shoppers $20 to fill a bag with books, while most books cost $1 each and higher-end books are priced individually.

Those in the community willing to donate their gently used books are encouraged to do so now, as a large number of book donations help to make the sale a success.

“We’re happy to take any good quality books. We can’t take encyclopedias, magazines, reader’s digest or textbooks, but other than that, we’d love to have the donations. That’s what makes this event possible,” Andersen adds.

Museum volunteers spend a few weeks prior to the sale organizing all the donated books and setting up the venue.

Book donations can be dropped at the museum’s back door off 4th Ave. during regular business hours, 12:00pm to 5:00pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
