RCMP still looking for missing Cortes Island man

Your help is still needed in finding Miles Meester.

RCMP say the 20-year-old was last seen on the evening of Feb. 6th.

He left his Mansons Landing home on foot not appropriately dressed for the weather.

The following morning, Campbell River Ground Search and Rescue carried out extensive grid searches in the surrounding areas but there was no trace of Miles.

BC Ferries was notified though no solid evidence has been found to suggest he left Cortes Island.

On Monday, a jacket believed to be worn by Miles was found in a ditch along Bartholomew Rd., near Cortes Bay.

Another piece of clothing, possibly belonging to Miles, was found on Manzanita Rd.

The RCMP, Cortes Fire Department, and Search and Rescue are continuing to look for Miles with efforts focussed on the area of Cortes Bay to Tiber Bay.

Volunteers are also helping with the search.

“The RCMP would like to express our appreciation for all of the volunteers that have given their time and energy to this search effort,” says Cpl. Sean Bulford. “We would like to remind people to check their properties and outbuildings, or make note of anything unusual around properties that should be vacant at this time of year.”

Miles has brown eyes and dark brown hair, stands at 5’11” and weighs around 150 lbs.

If you see Miles Meester or know where he is, call your local police or Quadra Island RCMP at (250) 285-3631.
