Do you need help with your tax return?
If you have a modest income and a simple tax situation, volunteers may be able to complete your tax return for you.
Through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP), Campbell River’s Opportunities Career Services Society is hosting free tax preparation clinics.
With help from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), volunteers prepare income tax and benefit returns for eligible individuals.
CRA Local CVITP Coordinator Elisabeth Martin says the program relies on the commitment of community organizations and their volunteers.
“Helping members of your community prepare and file their tax returns ensures these individuals receive the benefits and credits they’re entitled to without interruptions.”
Walk-in clinics are at Opportunities every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am until 12pm and from 1pm until 3pm.
They’re also being held at The Salvation Army Lighthouse every weekday from 11:30am until 1:30pm and at The Salvation Army Ocean Crest Community Church on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am until 3pm.
The Campbell River Women’s Centre is hosting clinics on Wednesdays from 10:30am until 2pm as well.
You’re asked to bring all tax slips and forms with you.
Clinics are running until the end of April.
