Campbell River’s Search and Rescue were called out near Ripple Rock Trail to find two sisters who were hiking Monday.
The women had wandered off the trail, eventually getting lost along the water’s edge. They called family members early on their cell, so rescuers could find them earlier while there was still plenty of daylight.
Search and Rescue manager Tim Fairbank suggest to always take a little bit more while going out hiking.
The sisters were picked up by boat and returned safely to the trailhead.
