Habitat for Humanity receives $8,000 donation from Campbell River Community Foundation

The Campbell River Community Foundation is helping out a local nonprofit in a big way.

Thanks to those who donated to the foundation’s COVID-19 relief fund, $8,000 was contributed to Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North (Habitat VIN).

“We’re really excited to receive the money from the Campbell River Community Foundation,” says Habitat VIN executive director Pat McKenna. “They’re an awesome foundation.”

With this donation, Habitat VIN is now able to purchase additional personal protective equipment, safety signage, and cleaning supplies for its build sites.

“For us, that $8,000 means we can be safe on our site and continue with our safety protocols,” McKenna adds.

The funds will also help Habitat VIN’s community engagement manager engage with the community and solicit local businesses to help with the three homes currently being built.
