BC Transit handing out face coverings at bus stops in Campbell River

Ahead of the mandatory face-covering policy coming Monday for BC Transit passengers, the company, along with The City of Campbell River will be handing out masks this Friday.

You can pick up a mask at either the Campbell River Community Centre or at the Highway 19A/Erickson Exchange bus top from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm this Friday.

The company says it’s following the guidance of the Provincial Health Officer and WorkSafeBC, and drawing on the best practices of the transit industry worldwide to move ahead with the mandatory face-covering policy.

While face coverings are mandatory, BC Transit says the policy is an educational step and will not be enforced.

The educational position is aligned with TransLink and other transit agencies in Canada.
