SD72 hosts restart plan board meeting tomorrow night

Parents wanting to learn more about the Campbell River School District’s restart plan will be able to get some insight tomorrow night.

School District 72 is holding a restart plan special board meeting on Aug. 25 starting at 6:00pm.

While trustees will meet in-person, the public can watch it online to ensure physical distancing.

Questions can be asked through the live stream Q&A. 

Earlier this month, Education Minister Rob Fleming announced Thursday, September 10th as the first day that kids will go back to school.

Teachers, staff and administrators will be back Tuesday the 8th.

“I think that we’re trusting in our public health officers and their decision to bring students back,” SD72 superintendent Jeremy Morrow said. 

“I think what we have to acknowledge is that with COVID-19, it is still present in our province and in order for us to come back to school we have to mitigate risk.” 

Morrow says the district is going to take every step “to mitigate those risks for our students and our staff.”
