SD72 shares restart plan for back to school

The Campbell River School District is sharing its restart plan.

In-class instruction returns on September 10th, two days after teachers and administrators return to schools.

Superintendent Jeremy Morrow says there will be staggered start times, breaks, lunch, and end times.

Secondary students will be completing one course at a time, over a span of approximately five weeks.

Morrow says this will keep secondary cohorts to a maximum of 30 people, which is much less than the public health maximum of 120.

Meanwhile, all middle and secondary students and staff will be expected to wear masks in hallways and common areas, but masks are not required within learning groups.

However, when taking the bus, all students must wear a mask.

Online learning will be available for secondary and alternate school students.

Morrow adds that all schools will experience enhanced cleaning protocols, and outside learning will be encouraged wherever possible and practical.
