Swim BC celebrates Campbell River swimmers

Swimmers with the Campbell River Killer Whales are receiving praise.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the competitive season for the swim club was cut short back in March.

“Some of our swimmers were just about to leave for Westerns in Saskatoon to showcase their hard work,” the club says.

“Other pod members had achieved qualifying times for Age Group and Provincials.”

Swim BC, the provincial sport organization and governing body, recognizes the hard work of the qualifying swimmers should not go unnoticed.

It sent T-shirts acknowledging their accomplishments for the memorable season.

“Congratulations swimmers!” the club adds. “Wear them proudly, you worked hard for them.”

The qualifying swimmers include Sarah Haugen, Charlize Langlois, Sarah Hartman, Kara Beauregard, Katie Millns, Martina Montãna, Summer Wenger, Niveeda Naicker, Kaya Lathangue and Ricky Millns.

As part of B.C’s Phase 3 Return to Sport guidelines, the Killer Whales will be diving back into the pool at Strathcona Gardens sometime this fall.
