Cracking down on distracted driving

Are distracted driving laws in B.C. tough enough?

The BC government is considering raising penalties and fines for distracted driving, but is asking British Columbians for their input first.

A new website was created for a four-week consultation that runs until July 16. It’s designed to collect comments to consider if $167 and three penalty points is enough to deter distracted behavior.

The website is the beginning of the government’s efforts to enhance safety on the province’s roads.
