City of Campbell River looking to grow Tourism Advisory Committee

Campbell River’s tourism sector is looking to bounce back, after being hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

After closures and travel restrictions stopped many from visiting during peak summer months, the city is now looking for more people to join its Tourism Advisory Committee.

There are currently five spots open for two years terms, starting January 1st.

The committee offers advice to council, and helps to deliver the community’s tourism vision so Campbell River remains what it calls “a destination of choice.”

With a focus on destination marketing to ramp up the number of overnight stays in local hotels, the committee also works to ensure its partners keep the visitor perspective in mind for all significant local projects.

Those interested in applying should have experience and knowledge of tourism or destination marketing, visitor servicing or related and relevant skills.

The deadline to submit an application is December 4th at 4:30 pm. To apply, click here.
