Campbell River Art Gallery replaces Artisan Market with Fine Arts Fair for 2020 holiday season

The Campbell River Art Gallery (CRAG) is changing things up for the 2020 holiday season.

In light of COVID-19, executive director Sara Lopez Assu says the CRAG team is scrapping the annual Artisan Craft Market this year.

“The level of complexity and risk involved in hosting such an event was deemed too high, so we have taken the difficult decision to cancel it,” Assu says.

In its place, the gallery will be hosting a Fine Arts Fair.

It kicks off on December 3rd and runs until the 22nd. The fair will open just in time for the annual downtown Starlight Shopping event.

Assu says the fair will be an intentionally curated art sale, featuring high-quality fine art by thoughtfully selected B.C. artists.

“The selection committee and I are so excited to offer locals this truly unique opportunity to shop for professional art right here in Campbell River,” she adds.

For those who prefer to shop online, the CRAG will be launching its new online store early next month. The site will feature items from the Fine Arts Fair, along with a selection of items from the gift shop.
