More job action for School District 72

Teachers are picketing local Campbell River schools Friday, and will be forming picket lines again Thursday June 12th. Leaving some parents wondering what is happening with end of year activities.

Nevenka Fair, assistant superintendent of the Campbell River School District, explains what is happening with graduation.

Fair says they have not yet heard exactly what is happening with end of year Provincial exams or report cards, but Education Minister Peter Fassbender promises exams, report cards and final grades will not be affected.

Meanwhile the teachers’ job action could be escalating.

Elaine Thompson the president of the Campbell River District Teachers Association says it looks like teachers will vote in favor of moving to a full scale walk out.

She says teachers will be taking the strike vote Monday and Tuesday next week.
