City of Campbell River temporarily suspends adult team sports

It’s game over, for now, for all City of Campbell River indoor and outdoor adult team sports.

This comes as the city follows recently imposed provincial health orders.

Those who have booked for pickleball, soft tennis and badminton can only play singles game at this time.

Meanwhile, fitness classes have gone back to being strictly online. People can tune in live via Facebook every weekday from 9:00am to 10:00am.

Classes are recorded so that people can watch at other times, as well.

The Sportsplex weight room will stay open by appointment only. Book your session at campbellriver.ca/online-registration.

“We’re closely monitoring the changing public health requirements, and adapting as quickly as possible,” says Michele Sirett, the City’s recreation manager. “Our goal continues to be to safely offer as much access and activity as possible.”

As new information is available, details will be posted online at www.campbellriver.ca /covid-19 and through the City’s social media channels.
