Rotary Club collecting donations for Campbell River’s maternity ward this Saturday

March for Children is returning to the streets of Campbell River, and it’s all in support of the local maternity ward.

The Rotary Club is gearing up for the annual event, set for tomorrow, December 19th. Volunteers will be collecting cash donations at intersections around town, while following COVID protocols, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.

They’ll be stationed on Alder at 2nd, Dogwood at 13th, St. Ann’s at Shopper’s Row, and at the Ken Forde Boat Ramp in Willow Point. There will be a debit tap machine at the boat ramp as well.

“This year, the hospital will use the funds to support the purchase of a portable ultrasound machine for the maternity department,” the club says.

The Rotary Club is praising Campbell Riverites for their support through the years. With over $18,000 raised last year alone, organizers are anticipating another successful year.

And, since its inception, over 30 pieces of equipment have been purchased for Campbell River’s hospital all thanks to the annual event.

If you can’t make it out tomorrow, but would still like to donate, donations can be made through the Hospital Foundation’s website.
