‘Loonies for Love’ rakes in hundreds for Campbell River SPCA

Year after year, the love keeps pouring in for the local Campbell River SPCA.

This year, despite COVID, the branch was still able to organize the annual ‘Loonies for Love’ fundraiser.

After paper hearts were sold at various locations around town in February, close to $800 was raised for the shelter.

“It was amazing,” says branch manager Stephanie Arkwright.

“We were unsure on how it was going to go this year, just with everything going on around us. So to be able to raise that much money was just a huge shock and a much-appreciated surprise.”

The branch took to social media to thank all that donated and participated.

Dogwood PetMart raised $410 this year, with Merecroft Veterinary Clinic, Coastland Veterinary Hospital, Campbell River Veterinary Hospital,  Campbell River Veterinary Hospital Dog Grooming and the branch itself contributing the extra $355.

All in all, a grand total of $765 was raised.

“A huge thank you to River Ink Printing and Signs for making this event possible again this year by donating all of the print materials. We truly appreciate all of the support from our community, especially during these challenging times,” the branch added.
