Share your thoughts on Centennial Pool’s new change house design

Locals are invited to share their thoughts, providing feedback on two potential design options for Centennial Pool upgrades.

The summer hotspot on 4th Avenue saw some upgrades over the past year, but now officials want to fully rehabilitate the change house.

With this in mind, the City has launched a public survey.

One design — ‘The Refined Existing’ — would see the current layout mostly retained with modest improvements.

Meanwhile, a second design — ‘The Changing Village’ — would see the facility ‘modernized’ to a largely universal-style changing village concept open to the pool deck with individual changing stalls.

According to Amber Zirnhelt, the City’s director of planning & recreation, Centennial Pool is beloved by the local community. She says officials are ‘excited’ about the possibility of upgrading the facility, making it even more accessible.

“We would love to hear from residents about the new design options,” Zirnhelt says.

The City has currently allocated $350,000 in capital funding to the project, seeking senior government grant funding for the remainder.

The survey launched this week and runs through August 22nd. The City says a summary of the feedback received will be provided to city council in the fall, helping inform their final design decision.

Floor plans as well as high-level costing for both options are included in the survey, found here.
