Less than 30 percent of patients who need stem cell transplants find a compatible donor within their own family.
That’s why One Match stem cell and marrow network are responsible for finding and matching volunteer donors to patients who require stem cell transplants.
Spokesperson Chris Barron says if you’re a match, you will be called upon if you’re on the list, and go through the process of getting a sample with you.
